Make a night of it during the Comedy Festival this May by grabbing dinner before or after a show! There are over 80 Cheap and Cheerful $15 offers available in the month of May to make the most of. We’ve put together a few evening itineraries to make planning just a little bit easier.
Dine at Elliott Stables, then catch Tom Sainsbury at Q Theatre
Catch Billy T Award nominee Tom Sainsbury at the Q Theatre and laugh the night away as he shares all the goss about the politicians he's met and the embarrassing stories from his ‘’embarrassing life’’. Before the show (or after), grab a bite to eat at Elliott Stables. Just a short stroll from where the show is taking place, here you are greeted with a range of eateries offering different international cuisines.

If you love BBQ, then you need to stop in at Juke Joint, an eatery specialising in mouthwateringly good southern style BBQ cuisine.
After a great feed, walk the short distance over to Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen to see Billy T Award nominee Lana Walters take to the stage for her comedy set Problem Areas. An intimate hour of standup that promises to be loose, fun and a bit raunchy! Get your tickets now!

Grab dinner at The Mexican Café before the Electric Kiwi Last Laughs show | May 23
An iconic Auckland establishment since 1983, The Mexican Cafe is a favourite amongst visitors to the city centre. It's a great spot to dine when you've got a show to see at the SkyCity Theatre, just a minutes walk up Victoria Street, a little bit along Federal Street, and you're there!
Fill your tummy before settling in for an evening of laughs at the Electric Kiwi Last Laughs performance. This show wraps up the Comedy Festival for 2021, featuring a line-up of the best of the best in comedy talent - Brynley Stent, Lana Walters, James Mustapic and Josh Davies.

Dinner and drinks at Tanuki’s Cave, then head to the Comedy All-Stars show at The Classic Comedy and Bar | May 7-22
Travel down the stairs to Tanuki’s Cave, where you can sit at the bar and soak up the funky and intimate atmosphere at one of Auckland's favourite dining hot spots. There is an extensive selection of yakitori (assorted meat charcoal grilled on skewers) & Kushiage (deep fried breadcrumbed skewers) to accompany your Japanese beer or chilled sake.
After a delicious meal at Tanuki’s, head next door to The Classic Comedy and Bar to laugh the night away at the Comedy All-Stars show. This special Festival Edition of the regular weekly Main Event is at the home of live comedy and will feature a showcase of NZ’s best headliners and rising stars including some who have their own shows in the Festival.
