2017 RAW Comedy Quest Winner
In a close fought competition, Ruby Esther, at just 18 years of age, won the national Grand Finale of the 2017 Raw Comedy Quest last night at Q Theatre.
11 finalists from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch competed in front of a big supportive audience and our panel of guest judges.
It was almost too close to call but, as the saying goes, 'there can be only one': Ruby Esther, who wins $1500, the glory, and offers of professional work including a spot on the Last Laughs Showcase this coming Sunday at SKYCITY Theatre. Ruby is also a Class Comedian from 2016.
A very close second was Emma Wollum from Wellington who wins $500 and a little bit of glory. Ray Shipley from Christchurch was also highly commended by the judges.
